Data collection

QR Generator Next does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information to the developer or any third party.

The extension does not:

• Collect names, email addresses, or other personally identifiable information
• Record browsing history or user activity for analytics
• Send QR content or page URLs to external servers
• Use third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services

Local storage

The extension stores settings locally on your device using Chrome's chrome.storage.local API. This may include:

• QR size and error-correction level
• Theme preference (light, dark, or system)

This data remains on your device and is not accessible to the developer. QR codes are generated locally in your browser.

On-device processing

When you generate a QR code from text or the current tab URL, encoding happens entirely on your device. The current tab URL is read only after you interact with the extension (for example, via the popup) and is not uploaded to any server.

Permissions

The extension requests only the permissions needed for its core functionality:

• storage — save your QR preferences and theme locally
• tabs — read the active tab URL when you choose to generate a QR from the current page
• activeTab — access the current tab only after you interact with the extension

Remote code

QR Generator Next does not use remotely hosted code. All JavaScript, CSS, HTML, and images are bundled inside the extension package.

Data sharing

We do not sell, rent, or transfer user data to third parties. We do not use user data for purposes unrelated to the extension's core functionality.

Children's privacy

QR Generator Next is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone.

Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
