Script Monkey Next is a Manifest V3 Chrome extension that lets you create, manage and run userscripts on web pages. This privacy policy explains what data the extension handles and how it is used.

Data collection

Script Monkey Next does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information to the developer or any third party.

The extension does not:

  • Collect names, email addresses, or other personally identifiable information
  • Record browsing history or user activity for analytics
  • Send your userscripts or page content to external servers
  • Use third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services

Local storage

The extension stores data locally in your browser using Chrome's built-in storage APIs:

  • Userscripts — saved with chrome.storage.local. This includes script names, metadata, source code and enable/disable state.
  • Preferences — saved with chrome.storage.sync. This includes your selected theme and the master enable/disable switch.

This data stays on your device and may sync across your Chrome profile through Google's Chrome Sync service. It is not accessible to the developer or any third party.

On-page execution

When you enable a userscript, it runs locally in your browser on pages that match the script's rules. Script Monkey Next does not upload your scripts or browsing data to any external server. You are solely responsible for the code you write and run.

Permissions

The extension requests only the permissions needed for its core functionality:

  • storage — to save your userscripts and extension preferences
  • activeTab — to show the current tab URL when you open the popup
  • userScripts — to register and run userscripts you create
  • host access (http/https) — so userscripts can run on matching websites defined by your @match rules

Remote code

Script Monkey Next does not use remotely hosted code. All extension JavaScript, CSS, HTML and images are bundled inside the extension package. Userscripts are written and stored by you locally; the extension does not download script code from external servers.

Data sharing

We do not sell, rent, or transfer user data to third parties. We do not use user data for purposes unrelated to the extension's core functionality.

Children's privacy

Script Monkey Next is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone.

Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
